As you know, Marty Wiglesworth, the Eminent Supreme Archon, will join us for Founders Day this year.  This will give everyone a first hand opportunity to hear about the convention that is being planned for this summer here in Memphis.

Founders Day will be at Thyme Bistro located in East Memphis at 5689 Quince.  This is where the old Jarretts used to be located.  Here is their website:

The dinner will be a prix fixe menu with the options of Salmon, Chicken, Pizza (which is fantastic) and Short Ribs served with salad and dessert.    Cost will be $35 a person if you RSVP ahead of time and $40 at the door.  Please send me an e-mail letting me know what you would like for dinner so I can get a headcount.

Funghi Pizza- mushrooms, mozzarella, fontina, onion, thyme, Newman Farm bacon, marinara

Sausage Pizza- roasted red peppers, homemade sausage, onion, mozzarella, rosemary, marinara

Grilled Salmon- Served on top roasted potatoes and vegetables served with a lemon thyme mustard sauce

Roasted Chicken- Roasted Chicken Breast on top a basmati rice pilaf with a tarragon veloute sauce

Short Rib- Braised short rib on top mashed potatoes and vegetables served with braising jus

Gentlemen,

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.  It’s not over yet….we still have a national championship coming up!

I know it has been a little while since we last met, but this January’s meeting should be exceptional.  We have guests from National that are in town to begin planning the national convention.  We wanted to get together to welcome them to Memphis as well as help them get started with their planning.

They will be in town on the 17th and 18th of this month, so we’ll tentatively plan on getting together on Tuesday January 18th at Sharky’s.  I’ll confirm later this week.  It is possible that we move the date to the night before (Monday 17th).

Speaking of location, there has been some talk about moving the meetings.  I am trying to keep it in East Memphis which seems central for most folks, and I thought having it on Poplar close to 240 made sense.  If you have any other suggestions, let me know.
